21 October 2010

After a few lazy days I decided to kick my own butt and do some serious sketching last night. I did a lot of cubes in 2 point perspective and then moved on to bottles.

Watching Spencer Nugent's video on contour lines in idsketching.com really helped me explain my forms.

I forgot to put this one up. Started with the thicker marker and then filled it in.

Working with a few contour lines. Minimal marker.

I've been a bit lazy recently. Have discovered idsketching.com and love it. Have a long way to go, but I'm going to persevere and try to do a sketch a day from now on.

Here is a car I drew last night. Ballpoint Pen on bank paper.

I have been practicing my 3D parametric drawing with the help of Scott Robertson's DVD from thegnomonworkshop.com

Tonight I might get the wacom intuos out and give that another go.

Introduction

Hey there.

My name is Aaron Tuck. I'm an industrial designer who finished my degree last year and has spent the last year doing a lot of tool design in CAD at my current job but I want to hone my sketching skills.

I am going to do a page of sketches of a specific product type per day and post them on here.

Feel free to comment.
